Here, we have an earlier outing by the late Kenny Wheeler. For this date he assembled a mini big band grouping with many well-seasoned players, a bit of a who’s who for its time. Some of the noted players include trombonist Chris Pyne, saxophonist Stan Sulzmann, pianist John Taylor, bassist Chris Lawrence and Drummer Peter Erskine. Ample opportunities are given to all musicians to express their talents within the carefully arranged solos dotted throughout Kenny’s seven marvellously penned compositions. [See details within included text] From start to finish the listener is taken on an elaborate journey that is worthy of multiple appraisals, enjoy!
