Fabio Zeppetella American Quartet - Handmade (2013)

Handmade is an emotion that takes us directly into the soul of the author with his compositions "by hand" from Zeppetella whose new project finds him the leader of a quartet of international jazz players: Aaron Goldberg on piano, Greg Hutchinson on drums and Matt Penman on bass. The originality of the sound that emanates from Fabio Zeppetella's fingers in this latest project seems to have been created by the artist and chiseled in his image. Equipped with an impeccable technique and great musical sensitivity, he uses a unique and personal language. He arrived at the elaboration of a completely original sound, passing from the tradition and music of masters such as Charlie Cristian and Wes Montgomery to the evocation of be-bop and hard-bop of the sixties. In his phrasing we discover the dominant aspects of a language that is never predictable, sometimes virtuous, sometimes sweet but always essential. Its dominant characteristics are constituted by the sweetness and strength inherent in the original way of interpreting music, in which the desire to seek a virtual link with poetry is evident. ~ romatoday.it. 2. Thanks Chris for providing a sample of the music. So much of Euro-jazz is unfamiliar territory for me.
